Sherif Elwy (bio) was reportedly named CEO and managing director of Arab African International Bank, replacing Hassan Abdalla, an unnamed banker told Masrawy, confirming our report of this past September. Elwy previously led Arab Bank in Egypt.
The central bank’s Mai Aboulnaga, finance ministry’s Ahmed Kochouk, and Ibrahim Safwat Lotfy have reportedly been appointed to AAIB’s board of directors. The changes are not yet reflected on the bank’s website.
