Ulrik Fugmann BNP Paribas

Ulrik has spent +20 years investing in and engaging with companies that energise, build, feed and move economic activity across the globe through alternative investment strategies across the capital structure.

Ulrik is the co-founder of Sustainable Solutions, a sustainability themed investment business established in 2017 focusing on companies addressing environmental challenges globally across energy, materials, agriculture and industrials markets.

Prior to Sustainable Solutions, Ulrik founded North Shore Partners LLP in 2012, an asset management boutique in London and with research office in Shanghai that through a merger became part of large London based asset management group. He spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, London, investing in energy and material companies globally having run the thematic investing and special situations unit, Goldman Sachs Thematic and Special Situations Group from 2009 – 2012. Ulrik was part of the Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies (GSPS) group from 2005 – 2007 investing thematically across resource markets and cross capital structure. He began his career in the securities division at Goldman Sachs in 2001 where he ran the European Energy and Materials franchise in 2004.

Ulrik has experience as an executive director through his tenure as a board member of private investment company Lind Capital and Lind Fondsmaeglerselskab as well as a advisor for WeWork Sustainability Labs. He is an active speaker on sustainability, environmental impact and financial markets.

He holds a MSc in Economics and Political Science (cand.polit) from University of Copenhagen
