Citibank N.A. Address For Wires

There are two different ways you can send money overseas with Citibank. The first is a wire transfer, which comes with a fee as above.

But if you want to avoid the fee, there’s a second option that has no transfer fees – Citibank Global Transfers. This is only for payments being sent to a Citibank account in another country.

International wire transfers

It’s pretty easy to set up an international wire transfer with Citibank Online. You’ll need to sign into your online banking, and have the recipient’s account and destination bank details ready. You’ll need¹:

  • The recipient’s name
  • Their bank’s name and location
  • Their bank account number
  • Their bank’s BIC/SWIFT code.

The other way to send a Citibank international money transfer is free, as long as you’re sending to another Citibank account. Along with the US, Citibank has a presence in 41 other countries worldwide².

All you’ll need is the recipient’s name and account number³, and you can set up and send the payment from your online banking.

International wire transfer with Citibank: How long does it take?

Citibank will usually send your international wire transfer on the same business day that you request it, as long as you do it before their cut-off time of 6:00 pm ET. If you’re making a domestic wire transfer, you have until 6:45 pm ET¹.

However, be aware that international transfers will take longer than that to reach their destination. Check with Citibank before you make the transfer to find out exactly how many days yours will take. It’s likely that Citibank will be sending your money via SWIFT transfer – a system that can take multiple business days.
