Citi Guatemala and the community

Citi, with the support of the Citi Foundation, promotes economic development in communities around the world, with an emphasis on initiatives that promote financial inclusion. We work in collaboration with highly qualified partners to achieve an improvement in socio-economic conditions that strengthens low-income families and communities. Under the banner of “More than Philanthropy,” Citi’s resources and human capital complement our investments and philanthropic impact.

The programs are aimed at increasing and developing entrepreneurial skills in young people and women between the ages of 15 and 25, in order to achieve improvement in the country’s communities and are the following:

  • Citi Microentrepreneur Award, executed by the Francisco Marroquín University. Program that seeks to empower and support Guatemalan microentrepreneurs through Seed Capital.
  • Women Entrepreneurs, organized through Junior Achievement. With the aim of promoting the entrepreneurial skills of women.
  • LEAD clubs. “Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development”, organized by Glasswing International. Program that seeks to offer support to youth on issues of Entrepreneurship and life skills.
  • Business Mentoring Clubs, organized by Voces Vitales. Program focused on strengthening entrepreneurial skills in Guatemalan business women.
  • Grow your Company, a program developed by Technoserve focused on supporting young people in creating business plans and strengthening their ventures.
