Hassan Abdullah Arab African International Bank

Hassan Abdalla is one of the Egyptian banking cognoscenti. He is the chief executive officer and vice chairperson of the Arab African International Bank. Abdalla presently chairs Union de Banques Arabes et Françaises (d.b.a. UBAF) in Hong Kong, and is a union board member in Paris and Curaçao.

He is a board member of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (also Deutsch-Arabische Industrie- und Handelskammer) as well. Hassan is the founder and presiding officer of “We Owe it to Egypt” board of trustees, a foundation sought to improve the life quality in Egypt. He also became a board member of London Africa Advisory Group (LAAG), owned by London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

Abdalla graduated from the American University in Cairo with a bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1982. In 1992, he attended and received a Master of Business Administration. Currently, he is a part-time faculty member at the AUC and a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of the School of Business at the same university.

Abdalla’s career highlights an academic record of accomplishments. Such a record earned him both the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002 and the Outstanding Alumni Award from the AUC in 2010. In 2014, the International Banker Magazine recognized Abdalla as the “International Banker CEO of the Year, Middle East” for his outstanding work at the AAIB.

Prominently, Mr. Abdalla is a flamboyant financier in the Arab world served on the Board of the Institute of International Finance, IIF, and was elected for six consecutive terms (2006-2012); a rare exception to the standard two-term rule.​​
