Gul has over 20 years of international financial services leadership experience, mostly with HSBC, having worked in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East – 8 countries in total. Gul is uniquely recognized as a leader in retail financial services, having been General Manager / Head of Retail Banking, Wealth Management, and Marketing in 5 countries with a proven track record of delivering high growth and transformation.
Gul was previously Regional Head of Wealth Management/Mortgages for HSBC Middle East based in UAE; Global Head of HSBC Amanah Retail Banking & Wealth and was also Head of Retail Banking, Marketing and an Executive Committee member for various banks in Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan.
Gul has had significant success in new digital initiatives/partnerships. Gul has also previously worked in Corporate Banking (USA); Insurance (Middle East) and Strategy (UK).
Gul was also previously the Founder & CEO of Fintech Explicatus, a Fintech advisory business that has ensured he is up to date with the latest developments in retail financial services. Gul is also a frequent speaker at international conferences with a focus on retail financial services and fintech.
Gul was raised in the UK, attended Oxford University, and was a professional cricket player before joining the financial services industry.
