Bank of China (Central and Eastern Europe) Limited Vienna Branch was established and registered in December 2015 as the Austrian branch of Bank of China (Central and Eastern Europe) Limited. The bank is licensed to operate in Austria by means of an EU passport and under the Hungarian banking license.

The Austrian Central Bank (“OenB”) and the Austrian Financial Market Authority (“FMA”) perform liquidity and integrity supervision. Bank of China (Central and Eastern Europe) Limited, Budapest is a 100% subsidiary of Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Bank of China (Europe) S.A. is wholly owned by Bank of China Limited with a head office in Beijing, China. The Vienna Branch is the first location of the Bank of China in Austria and the first Chinese financial institution in Austria.

China has become the fifth-largest trade partner of Austria, and Austria is regarded as one of the most promising markets for international investment opportunities. The bilateral economic and trade relations of the two countries are currently facing new opportunities for further development. We offer customer contact and relationships with Chinese corporates, we participate in marketing events and international meetings for the promotion of Austrian-Chinese relations, we provide financial services and support to international companies and we develop tailor-made solutions for risk minimization in international trade. Another focus is also on Chinese companies doing business on an international level as well as on the Austrian market, and on Chinese companies that invest in Austria and need local support in the handling of transactions with China.

We also provide the linguistic and cultural support of the home country by building a bridge to Austria. Our target customers are big international corporates, (large) Austrian companies doing business in China and Asia, Chinese companies making business and investments in Austria.
